Gross Activities You Can Do With a Microscope

Microscopes are so much fun to work with when you are a kid. They give you the potential to see things that you cannot see with your naked eye. As you come to be more customary with the miniature worlds that share your life you will fast see how weird and gross things can of course get.

Activity #1 - Pond Scum

The grossest place to collect samples to study under a microscope is the bathroom. Now this location in your home is full of distinct microbes that you can collect. There are covering microbes like molds and mildews that can be examined, and there are parasites and other more invasive microbes that can be collected in and around your toilet. If you are very brave you can collect fecal samples as well to study. However, while you are collecting these microbes make sure you wear latex or rubber gloves and that you wash your hands after your collection and examination.
